The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) Recycling Depot was launched on August 14 with Attorney General Dato Seri Paduka Haji Hairol Arni bin Haji Abdul Majid and AGC employees in attendance.

The launch proceeded with officers and staff depositing their segregated recyclable waste into designated bins at the AGC Recycling Depot.

According to a press release from the AGC, waste segregation opens up opportunities for further waste recovery such as recycling, and it is an essential first step towards reducing waste going into landfills.

It was shared that the AGC has partnered with Daikyo Environment Recycling Sdn Bhd to establish a Recycling Depot to encourage AGC officers and staff to adopt a habit of segregating waste and to complement existing nationwide waste recycling initiatives.

The launch was organised by the AGC Ecoteam, a committee established with the tagline ‘AGC; A Green Community.’ The committee aims to create a greener workspace and instil a sense of responsibility in officers regarding the environment.

The press release added that the AGC Recycling Depot is the first of several Go Green Initiatives planned by the AGC Ecoteam. With the upcoming United Nations’ Climate Summit in September this year, the AGC Ecoteam through its Go Green Initiatives hopes to encourage others to help make Brunei an exemplary green nation.
