Over 30 sharpen essay writing skills

THE Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) yesterday held an Essay Writing Workshop 2019 to guide young writers on creative and non-creative writing genres, at the DBP. The workshop was organised by its Literature and Magazine Section.

Present during the workshop was Head of the Literature and Magazine Section Dr Haji Mohd Ali bin Haji Radin.

The workshop was facilitated by Southeast Asian Literature Council (Mastera) Brunei Darussalam member Dr Haji Morsidi bin Haji Muhammad, a literature reviewer for Brunei Darussalam.

More than 30 participants, aged 15 to 40, from various educational backgrounds and writing fields took part in the workshop.

The event intended to broaden participants’ knowledge in writing techniques. It also hoped to be a ground for the selection of participants to represent Brunei Darussalam in regional projects/programmes such as the Mastera Writing Programme 2019 in Jakarta as well as literary community programmes sponsored by the Mastera.

A workshop on Drama Writing 2019 will be held today, facilitated by Mastera Brunei Darussalam member Mohd Zefri bin Mohd Zain Ariff, a SEA Write Award recipient and Head of the Putra Seni Group.
