THE Ministry of Religious Affairs in collaboration with the Islamic Studies Department and the Ta’zeez Al-Lughah Al-Arabiah Bi Madaris Arabiah Programme Unit of the Permanent Secretary Office held a Ta’zeez Biah Al-Arabiah Management Workshop at the Auditorium Hall of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School yesterday.

The facilitator of the workshop was Dr Abdul Hafiz bin Zaid from the Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor, Ponorogo, Indonesia.

The participants comprised leaders from various Arabic schools and the Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah such as the principals, deputy principals, senior teachers and heads of Arabic Language Department as well as officers from the Islamic Studies Department involved with Arabic schools.

The workshop was aimed at gaining insight and experience in the formation and implementation of Biah Al-Lughah Al-Arabiah to be practised in Arabic schools across the nation as well as sharing best practices in producing effective Arabic teaching and learning in the management of programmes to empower students.

At the same time, it also aimed towards increasing the confidence and determination of school leaders in designing and managing Ta’zeez Al-Lughah Al-Arabiah activities or programmes and in strengthening Biah Al-Arabiah within their schools. It also aimed towards developing a network of cooperation in school managements among the Arabic school leaders.

Students will be more motivated to learn and practise Arabic language through the conducive Bi’h Al-Lughah Al-Arabiah in schools so that eventually they will be accustomed towards speaking Arabic fluently. The environment can also help stimulate and force students to adapt, practise and familiarise themselves with Arabic language.
