EMPLOYEES Trust Fund (TAP) participated in the UBD Career Talk recently at The Inspiring Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) as part of its initiatives to help jobseekers especially fresh graduates.
The main highlight of the sharing session was the importance of having retirement savings and emphasis on knowledge and tips before joining the workforce.
This included obtaining and understanding their employment contract as well as being aware of their employer’s responsibilities in registering and contributing for the employees who are eligible under TAP and Supplemental Contributary Pension (SCP) schemes.
The benefits of joining Self-Employed SCP scheme that will enable individuals who wish to engage in the informal sector (self-employed) to also have retirement savings and other benefits under SCP Scheme for their retirement needs during their golden days were also shared.
Participants were also provided with in depth information of the schemes and how they may benefit optimally from them.
