Students fine-tune Al-Quran reading skills

PENGIRAN Bendahara Lama Religious School held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony marking the completion of Al-Quran reading for 20 Primary 6 students yesterday.

The students comprised 11 male and nine female students, who completed the recitation of the 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran.

The annual religious event hopes to encourage more students to practice the recitation of Al-Quran in a correct and fluent way. In addition, the event hopes to foster close relations and cooperation between parents, teachers and students.

Present as the guest of honour was Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Iswandy bin Ahmad.

The event started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour followed by recitation of Al-Quran verses by the students.

Khatam Al-Quran students recited verses from Surah Adh-Dhuhaa to Surah Al-Masad, and concluded with the traditional sprinkling of scented flowers and the presentation of certificates to students.
