THE BSB Municipal Department continued its efforts to raise awareness on the Minor Offences Act Chapter 30, Section 12 (1) among students of selected primary schools in the Brunei-Muara District by hosting a roadshow at Datu Ratna Haji Muhammad Jaafar Primary School in Kampong Kiarong yesterday.
Some 137 students attended the event, held as part of measures to instil a culture of keeping the environment and surroundings clean among children from a young age.
The Minor Offences Act, Chapter 30, Section 12 (1) pertains to the violation of ‘disposing rubbish in public places’.
The year-long roadshow is held at 12 selected schools in the district.
The roadshows were conducted for civil servants and selected inter-government agencies in past years. The focus of the roadshows has been changed in recent years to concentrate on providing students aged seven to 12 basic knowledge on the importance of keeping the environment clean.
