Religious schools hold Khatam Al-Quran

THE Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Religious School of Kampong Saba held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the school’s main hall recently.

Twenty students comprising 12 boys and eight girls completed their 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran recitation. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour, Mohd Ahsanul Azmi bin Haji Serbini. This was followed with the recitation of Takhtim by students of Primary 3, 4 and 5.

The ceremony concluded with Doa Khatam read by Khairul Hadi Safwan bin Khairul Humaizi and Dikir was performed by students from Primary 5.

Imam of Kampong Saba Religious Hall Sahrin bin Haji Matnoor blessed the ceremony with Doa Selamat.

The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony is one of the annual activities organised by the school to inculcate the reading of Al-Quran among students and to instil the culture of loving Al-Quran.

Begawan Pehin Udana Khatib Haji Umar Religious School

THIRTY-ONE students of the Begawan Pehin Udana Khatib Haji Umar Religious School in Kampong Setia, Brunei I participated in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony after successfully completing the recitation of 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran at the school’s main hall yesterday.

The participants comprised 17 boys and 14 girls of Primary 6 students of the religious school.

Head of Religious School Section, Islamic Studies Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Mohammad Ahsanul Azmi bin Haji Sharbini was the guest of honour.

The objectives of the ceremony, apart from inculcating love towards reading Al-Quran, were to train the students to practise reading Al-Quran as part of their daily life and to promote cooperation among teachers, students, parents and guardians.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour.

It was followed by the recitation of SurahSurah Lazim from Surah Adh-Dhuhaa up to Surah Al-Masad by the Khatam participants.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to the students.

JERUDONG Religious School held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for 83 students to celebrate the completion of the recitation of 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran at the school’s multipurpose hall yesterday.

Special Duties Officer in his capacity as the Head of the Policy, Planning and Research Division of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Pengiran Anak Dr Haji Amiruddin Alam Shah bin Pengiran Anak Haji Ismail was the guest of honour.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour followed by the recitation of the verses from Al-Quran by the Khatam participants from Surah Adh-Dhuhaa until Surah Al-Masad. It continued with the recitation of Takhtim and Doa Khatam by Ahmad Hasanuddin bin Morni.

The ceremony was enlivened with a Dikir Marhaban followed by the sprinkling of scented oil on the Khatam participants prior to the presentation of Khatam certificates by the guest of honour.

The event concluded with a Doa Selamat. The objectives of the ceremony were to instil love and interest among the students towards reciting Al-Quran fluently and at the same time to train them in making an effort towards seeking blessings from Allah the Almighty. It also aimed to strengthen relationship and cooperation among teachers, students, parents and guardians.

Pengiran Muda Abdul Malik Religious School

FORTY-ONE Primary 6 students of Pengiran Muda Abdul Malik Religious School, Kampong Bengkurong were celebrated in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony held at the school hall of Pengiran Anak Puteri Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam Religious School in Kampong Mulaut.

The annual event aims to encourage pupils to recite Al-Quran before they complete their studies in religious school, to teach the students to read Al-Quran correctly and practise its reading in daily life and appreciate the teaching.

Acting Penghulu of Mukim Kilanas and Village Head of Kampong Bengkurong, Kampong Sinarubai and Kampong Burong Lepas Haji Talib bin Haji Bakar @ Abu Bakar was the guest of honour. He led the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah before the ceremony continued with the recitation of Surah Adh-Duhaa until Surah An-Nas by the participants.

Mohammed Danial bin Mohammed Akmal recited the Doa Khatam.
