VELOSI Sdn Bhd in collaboration with Suryawana Management Services organised a motivational and personal improvement workshop for its 21 staff at the Ballroom of Plaza Sutera Biru Hotel, Kuala Belait.
The two-day workshop, which started on July 8, was aimed at helping the staff on the best approaches in defining and developing self-motivational, self-improvement, team-building, time-management, and communication skills to better facilitate a smoother organisational performance within the company and better support the oil and gas sector, especially in the Bruneian staff development area.
The Velosi staff participated in various briefings, brainstorming sessions and team-building activities throughout the two-day workshop.
General Manager of Suryawana Management Services Haji Mohd Zulkifli bin Pehin Haji Mohd Salleh led the workshop.
“In addition to the activities, we have also analysed various case studies on the importance of self-motivation and self-improvement, and how it can lead to a positive change in not only our attitude but also in the working environment,” Haji Mohd Zulkifli said.
He also noted that the workshop also sought to increase motivational awareness while enhancing personal skills to improve the overall productivity and performances of the organisation.
“The participating members also presented on stage the result of their brainstorming session to help showcase what they had gained during the workshop by highlighting various solutions that can be easily applied to aid in self-improvement and self-motivation,” he added.
He also highlighted the willingness and eagerness of the participants in picking up new skills.
He was pleased to be involved in such a workshop as the commitments and initiative shown by the participants will be able to help them grow as individuals as well as a tight-knit group working together.
“With the new knowledge in hand, we hope that the participants will be able to commit more to the organisation, which in turn, will help to spur the economic value that they can return to the country as a whole,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Bulletin also spoke to a participating staff member Muhammad Nur Asri bin Haji Rosli, who noted that the workshop was an interesting one as they were able to focus on general self-motivation and self-improvement.
“Be it in our current company or any other organisation that we may join in the future, through the teamwork aspect of the workshop, we were able to help encourage each other to participate in activities such as public speaking, giving ideas, etc,” he said.
He added that he was able to find the motivation needed to advance career wise and not be stagnant, all the while improving on certain aspects in his life to reach goals that will help in his career and the company.
Velosi Executive Director Haji Rosli bin Haji Mohd Daud together with Velosi Director Juffrydin bin Haji Mohammad handed over certificates to the attendees at the end of the workshop.
