MoD’s 22 intending Haj pilgrims feted

TWENTY-two intending Haj pilgrims from the Ministry of Development (MoD) and its departments were feted in a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony at the Betabur Hall of the MoD’s building yesterday.

The guest of honour, Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar presented donations to the pilgrims.

Eight males and 14 females comprising officers and staff of the ministry will perform the Haj pilgrimage this year.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Assistant Project Officer Grade 1, Policy Coordination and Strategic Planning Division of the MoD Mohammad Khairul bin Jackriah. It was followed by a religious talk on Siapkan Bekalan ke Tanah Suci by the invited speaker, Director of International and Public Relations Centre of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Ustaz Haji Sammali bin Haji Adam.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat by the speaker.

Deputy Minister of Development Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Permanent Secretary (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) at the MoD Haji Amer Hishamuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Zakaria, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Construction Industry and Development) at the MoD Sharom bin Haji Suhaimi, the Acting Director of Administration and Finance, Director-General of Public Works Department, heads of departments, divisions and units as well as officers and staff members of the ministry and its department were also present.
