Apart from preparing packed meals for the victims affected by floods, house fire and house collapse, JAPEM also gave aid in the form of rations of food and other basic needs to the victims.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a welcoming speech by Rostinah who highlighted that the financial aid given by the government is not to just compensate for damages or loss of property due to the incident, but to also help alleviate the hardships faced by the victims.

The acting director added that the distribution of financial aid should be implemented as soon as possible to the victims, in which the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports through JAPEM is working to update the process of investigation and payment process so that it is quickly submitted and given to qualified victims.

“The department has set KPIs for the submission of financial assistance to the victim to be lodged within 30 working days after the occurrence of a disaster,” said the acting director. “Efforts such as this can be implemented especially for disasters of a small scale.”

Rostinah added that such efforts would not be successful without the aid and cooperation from various agencies such as the department of district offices, Ministry of Home Affairs, as well as mukim penghulus and village heads involved.

The event concluded with the handover ceremony by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports prior to the recitation of Doa Selamat.
