TWO local men were jailed for eight months after they pleaded guilty to premeditated theft of a gas cylinder from a nasi katok stall.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Aeny Zullizam revealed in court yesterday that Mohammad Zulazlaine bin Zoelaliffin, 28, and Abu Bakar bin Durahman @ Jaini, 44, were driving around Madang Complex looking for items to steal at 9.14am on June 24.

They eventually drove up to the Nasi Katok stall at Naili’s Resaurant, where they found a gas cylinder under a bench, and took it away in their vehicle.

The police managed to trace the identities of the two men through CCTV footage, which led to their arrest.

Senior Magistrate Azrimah binti Abdul Rahman presided over the case.
