Jimmy Chung at helm of Rotary Club BSB

ROTARIAN Jimmy Chung was elected as President of the Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan (Rotary Club BSB) during the 55th installation ceremony of the Club Officers for Rotary Year (2019/2020) held at the Manggis Ballroom of the Hua Ho Manggis Mall on Saturday.

The ceremony was witnessed by District Governor 3310 Jeff Yong and District First Lady Betty Wong.

Also elected were Lam Soon Meng (Vice President and Rotary Foundation Chair), Clement Yong (Honorary Secretary), Klaus Tomalla (the Immediate Past President) and Clement Yong (President Elect), Leonida Lim (Honorary Treasurer), Kenneth Ling (Club Administration Chair), Kevin Onn (Membership Chair), Boon Wu Wai (Public Image Chair), Alan Saikawa (Service Project Chair), Annie Tang (Vocational Service Chair), Yapp Giem Eing (Community Service Chair) and Albert Tan (International Service Chair).

Chung said, “This year is a special year for the club as they have a District Governor from the club since the charter. ‘We will also have the honour of hosting the yearly District Conference for Rotary Year 2020. We hope all of you will support this district conference.

“I would like to congratulate our Immediate Past President Klaus Tomalla and his inspiring team for another successful rotary year.

“Under Klaus’ leadership, he has created new projects and furthered our club to greater heights. He has done a tremendous job as a president and leader.

‘’The theme for this Rotary year is Rotary Connects the World. I call them the connector and do expect to connect with all of you,” he said.

The ceremony coincided with the 54th anniversary of Rotary Club BSB.
