A WORKSHOP aimed at generating social awareness within the community through music and song was held by The Creative Core BN at Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre recently.
Titled Voices of the Untold: School Edition, the workshop was an extension of a music showcase event launched in March.
According to a press release, students in the workshop were led through a series of activities to explore the power of music and theatre, including addressing particular social issues that are perhaps not openly discussed.
One of the activities invited students to interpret song lyrics and to look at the deeper meaning of the songs. Issues of conformity and stereotypes were addressed by the students.
The workshop also touched on the importance of discussion as a form of communication to bring more understanding between people.
It was shared that local audio visual systems company, The Sequence, is supporting Voices of the Untold: School Edition as AV Systems Partner.
