HARI Raya get-togethers continue to be held nationwide.
Some 200 LiveWIRE Brunei Alumni attended a Hari Raya gathering at the Poolside of Peak Performance Sdn Bhd (PPSB), formerly known as Royal Brunei Recreation Club (RBRC), on Friday night.
Present was Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) In-Country Value Manager and LiveWIRE Brunei Chairperson Hajah Rosita binti Hassan, LiveWIRE Programme Director Pengiran Redzuan bin Pengiran Haji Abbas as well as officials from public and private sector and alumnus of LiveWIRE Brunei.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Iswandy bin Ahmad also attended.
According to Pengiran Redzuan, 15,000 people have joined the LiveWIRE Brunei programmes since it was established in 2001.
The latest programme is the AgroBiz project, which aims to develop 10 hectares of paddy fields at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Agro-Techology Campus in Kampong Wasan within three years by utilising high-yield rice varieties and modern machinery.
He added that LiveWIRE Brunei’s success is due to the enthusiasm of young Bruneians and the dedicated and hardworking team behind it.
In 2010, LiveWIRE Brunei was awarded the ‘Investment in People’ Award during the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship, and the award for the most ‘Responsible SMEs in Asia at the prestigious Asia Corporate Excellence Sustainability (ACES) Awards in 2017.
Besides the continuous, robust programmes and contributions to lead the national entrepreneurship development with the Brunei Government, LiveWIRE remains focussed on the enthusiastic participation of Brunei youth in the economic diversification.
LiveWIRE Brunei is part of an international organisation operating in over 23 countries worldwide, and is an organisation fully sponsored by BSP Sdn Bhd. The Shell LiveWIRE is a Royal Dutch Shell Social Investment programme, which enables young people to start their own business and create employment.
Santa Express Oilfield Services held a Hari Raya celebration for staff members and clients at Serikandi Restaurant in Kuala Belait yesterday.
The event was held in appreciation of employees and to nurture closer relations with its clients – government and private agencies – and to thank them for their continuous support.
More than 120 guests comprising representatives of government and private agencies attended the event. They were welcomed by Director of Santa Express Oilfield Services Pengiran Haji Kamis bin Pengiran Metamin, Santa Express Oilfield Services General Manager Anthony Wong and staff members.
In his opening speech, Pengiran Haji Kamis noted that the celebration was held for the company’s staff and government and private agency clients as the “spirit of Syawal was still in the air.” He also thanked the clients for trusting the company and its services.
Guests enjoyed a hearty selection of food and drinks and mingled with each other in true Aidilfitri spirit.
Brunei-Muara Senior Citizens Activity Centre
Members of the Brunei-Muara Senior Citizens Activity Centre held a Hari Raya gathering at its premises at RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan yesterday.
The function was enlivened with a performance by members of the centre. They included live karaoke and dancing, among others.
Guests were treated with festive dishes, cakes and drinks.
The gathering aimed to foster relations among members of the centre.
