More females as roadside assistants

INSURANS Islam TAIB General Takaful Sdn Bhd (IITGT) i-CARe Centre has increased the number of female workers for Roadside Assistance to help females who face vehicle breakdown, said Bengkel Kereta Berakas Sdn Bhd (BKB) Executive Officer Haji Md Fuad bin Haji Zaini who is in charge of IITGT i-CARe.

He made these comments at the launching ceremony of the new IITGT i-CARe Centre at the Green Industrial Parkland, Jalan Tungku Link.

More local staff were also hired to carry out duties 24 hours, seven days according to the stated working hours, he said.

Haji Md Fuad citing statistics added IITGT i-CARe Centre’s service centre received around 100 to 150 calls per day or estimated 4,000 to 5,000 calls a month.

The calls were from all four districts. Of this, 55 per cent were from the Brunei-Muara District, 15 per cent from the Tutong District, 25 per cent from the Belait District and five per cent from the Temburong District.

IITGT i-CARe is planning to extend its services to neighbouring Sabah and Sarawak in the near future as there is an increase in the need of the services.

Details about the calls and upcoming plans of IITGT i-CARe were revealed by Haji Md Fuad at the launching of the new IITGT i-CARe Centre.

Haji Md Fuad added, “In response to growing service needs, BKB is also adding its logistic requirements including two trucks, double cab vehicles, saloon vehicles and increasing the motorcycle services named Car Accident Response Service (CARS) to provide assistance service using motorcycles. The CARS was introduced to provide assistance faster and safer which is now better known as Motor Claim Guidelines (MCG).”

Touching on the new centre, he said the renovation work started on February 14, 2019 with the support from IITGT, government agencies and the private sector.

The aim of the construction of new centre is to provide a more efficient, sincere and professional service to customers of IITGT, Haji Md Faud said.

He said, “The road assisting service by BKB as the strategic partner of IITGT started on November 1, 2012. The road assisting service has been expanded in stages to provide convenience and assistance to customers covered by IITGT through the Motor Vehicle Takaful Scheme. The services are designed to help vehicles which breakdown at the road caused by mechanical or electrical problems, towing, dead battery, flat tyre, accidental key lock, emergency fuel and transport service among others.”

Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd Managing Director Haji Osman bin Haji Md Jair was the guest of honour at the launch of the new centre which is managed by IITGT’s strategic partner, BKB. He was joined by BKB Managing Director Haji Yusop bin Haji Judin.

Haji Osman said, “This year, IITGT i-CARe services has again given a fresh breath with the launching of the IITGT i-CARe Centre that has a modern design and equipped with new facilities. The centre is close to the Accident Care Centre (ACC), a first in the country, which can further strengthen the quality of service to customers of IITGT, especially those involved in road accidents.”

IITGT General Manager Haji Zamrin bin Haji Abdul Ghani, officers from Insurans Islam TAIB Group of companies and guests were also present.
