THE Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Brunei Darussalam yesterday donated 54 Omani themed books to the Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS), as part of the centre’s effort to develop its Resource Centre.
Minister Plenipotentiary/Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman Mahmood Khamis Mohamed Al-Hinai presented the books to Head of International Affairs and Resources at CSPS Dr Norhabibah binti Kamis who received the books on behalf of CSPS.
The books contain various publications on governance and international affairs, in addition to the history, geography, archaeology, culture, tradition, heritage and maritime of the Sultanate of Oman, in English and Arabic languages.
Mahmood Al-Hinai expressed hope that these books would form a meaningful part of CSPS Resource Centre by catering to the needs of researchers, while at the same time contributing to enriching the people of Brunei Darussalam overall knowledge on Oman.
According to Mahmood Al-Hinai, the presentation comes in line with the embassy’s efforts to promote the Omani culture in Brunei Darussalam due to the commonalities between the two countries, while further strengthening people-to-people links which are important components of the strong ties between the Sultanate of Oman and Brunei.
“As part of this effort, three Omani publications corners were officially launched at the library of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) in February 2016 and at Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s (UBD) library in May 2017 and at the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) in July 2018,” said the Omani diplomat.
