TWENTY-ONE officers and staff from the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) and its departments will perform the Haj pilgrimage this year. A Doa Selamat ceremony to bless their journey was held at the Theatre Hall of the MoFE’s building yesterday.
Guest of honour, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah presented donations to the intending Haj pilgrims.
Another highlight of the ceremony was a religious talk entitled Menunaikan Haji Bukti Cinta Kepada Allah by Dr Haji Noralizam bin Haji Aliakhbar, invited speaker from Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan.
Dr Haji Noralizam highlighted that performing Haj is a proof of love towards Allah the Almighty because it is not an ordinary journey, but a journey towards Allah (seeking the blessing of Allah the Almighty).
The ceremony is part of the annual religious activities of the ministry to celebrate officers and staff members who will perform Haj and to strengthen the ties among the officers and staff of the ministry and departments under it. The ceremony was organised by the Revenue Division of MoFE.
Also in attendance were Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal) Dato Seri Paduka Awang Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, permanent secretaries, heads of departments and divisions, officers and staff of the ministry and departments under it.
