Companies hold Hari Raya get-together

COMPANIES nationwide continue to hold Hari Raya celebrations to share in the festivities with customers.

DST

DST hosted its annual Hari Raya festivities with special needs individuals with the objective of doing ‘beautiful things out of love.’ It was also part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) effort – Ihsan Kasih.

Over 1,000 registered special needs students from centres including Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam; Special Education Unit of the Ministry of Education; Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA); Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei; Pusat Bahagia Eric Goh and Learning Ladders Society attended the festivities at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

Students of Pusat Ehsan, KACA and Special Education Unit staged colourful performances. There were also performances by DST staff and mascot appearances.

DST’s senior management team (led by Acting CEO of DST Radin bin Sufri Radin Basiuni) and representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) handed out green packets (provided by DST) to the children.

Throughout the years, DST has been able to contribute towards expanding the work of NGOs in areas such as the building/renovation of SMARTER Brunei classrooms and education sponsorship for Pusat Ehsan teachers; and also in reaching out to individuals in need hearing aids, or providing financial support to single mothers and their special needs children.

The Ihsan Kasih initiative aims to give back to the community through programmes for the less fortunate, orphans, special needs individuals and other volunteer work.

QAF Auto Sdn Bhd

QAF Auto Sdn Bhd held its annual QAF Auto Hari Raya open house at its BMW showroom in Beribi yesterday.

During the celebration, five lucky BMW customers bagged flights to Munich, Germany to experience the BMW Welt, the company’s automobile collection centre, popular for its futuristic architecture.

The winners were chosen during a live draw yesterday, following a campaign that ran from April 1 to June 3. Participants were eligible to join by virtue of purchasing a BMW vehicle during the campaign period.

On hand to distribute the prizes was QAF Group Chief Executive Officer Albert Lau, alongside General Manager of QAF Auto Sivakumar Krishnan and Area Manager Joanna Sia.

One of the winners, Miswani binti Haji Zolkefri told the Weekend Bulletin she has always been a BMW enthusiast. She previously owned a BMW X1 and 3 series sedan, and currently drives the latest generation BMW 3 Series.

“I did not expect to walk away with a free air ticket! I look forward to the Munich trip, especially to experience the BMW Welt,” she said.

Meanwhile, Sivakumar said, “We want to share this opportunity (to visit BMW Welt) with our customers and make a perfect milestone gift for BMW enthusiasts.”

He also took the opportunity to wish all celebrants and friends a Selamat Hari Raya.

The annual gathering was attended by BMW customers, including motorcycle owners from BMW Motorrad, BMW enthusiasts and QAF Centre personnel.

Guests were treated to a scrumptious buffet spread, festive favourites as well as instant photo-booth to capture the memories with QAF Auto, the exclusive importer of BMW vehicles in Brunei Darussalam.

Archipelago

Archipelago, Brunei’s logistic group, held its annual Hari Raya company dinner last weekend at The Empire Hotel & Country Club to appreciate staff contribution and to celebrate the festivities.

Archipelago Executive Chairman Haji Md Razali bin Haji Johari highlighted the need for staff dedication and Archipelago’s commitment in providing training and knowledge sharing for all staff.

The festivities continued with song performances, team building activities and a lucky draw.
