Celebrating 60 years with special edition, lifestyle collection

MINI Brunei announced the availability of the MINI 60 Years Edition – an exclusive design model highlighting the British origins of MINI as well as the signature agile character of MINI vehicles – in Brunei during a launching ceremony at High Frequency Café in Batu Bersurat yesterday.

MINI Brunei also presented the MINI 60 Years Lifestyle Collection which includes items from clothing and accessories to children’s products in conjunction with the launching ceremony.

Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Wadood Bolkiah bin Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz and British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Richard Lindsay were present.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a welcoming speech by QAF Auto General Manager Sivakumar Krishnan who highlighted that since MINI’s previous launch in August last year, the brand has grown more stylish yet refined in visual appearance emphasising its British heritage and origin.

The general manager also announced the arrival of the new MINI Clubman and GCW Countryman in the later quarter of 2019.

Meanwhile, the British High Commissioner also said that over the last 60 years the MINI has evolved continuously and is now voted the second most iconic car in the world.

The event also saw lucky winners who won a trip to London to visit the MINI assembly production factory, Pengiran Luba bin Pengiran Haji Suhaili and Hajah Dayang Ma’ani binti Haji Awang Jalil.

The MINI brand has always stood for an original that constantly reinvents itself – it is firmly rooted in tradition, yet always open to change. Even after 60 years, MINI continues to be renowned for bringing worldwide popularity to unique properties such as the go-kart feeling and the creative use of space. According to the Head of MINI Asia Kidd Yam, six decades after the launch of a compact British car that rewrote the rules of motoring, MINI is thrilled to begin the celebrations of MINI 60 Years in Brunei with the launch of the exclusive design model.
