55 students participate in Khatam Al-Quran ceremony

A TOTAL of 55 students from the Jerudong International School (JIS) Ugama School Primary 6 students participated in the annual JIS Ugama Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony held at the auditorium of the JIS Arts Centre yesterday.

Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof was the guest of honour.

Also present were Principal of JIS Barnaby Sandow, Principal of JIS Ugama School Hajah Noraidah binti Haji Tengah, Deputy Principal of JIS Nicholas Sheehan, Head of the Middle Years at JIS Richard Bourbon, Head of the Upper Years at JIS Anthony Piper, and Head of Enrichment at JIS Justin Harris.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour and a Doa led by Nazif Rafi’ie bin Haji Mohammad Nadzri Radhi from Primary 6 Ba.

The event continued with the recitation of the verses of Al-Quran by Primary 6 students followed by a Takhtim and Dikir performance by students from Primary 5 of JIS Ugama School.
