A CAPTAINS’ briefing and Tournament Draw was held at the Weekend Warriors Headquarters at Telanai Avenue yesterday.

A total of 14 teams divided into four groups confirmed their participation for the Weekend Warriors Futsal Mini Tournament which will be held tomorrow from 8am to 6pm at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (Indoor) Futsal Court.

In Group ‘A’ are Star 49, SF 79 and Kamoz Team while Group ‘B’ consists VCBFT, HGOC and Media FC. In Group ‘C’ are Pirates U21, Begawan, Polytechnic and MMW. Group ‘D’ consists TSFFC, PIA, Pirates U17 and Auto Artisan.

Haadi Awang, one of the organisers, emphasised that the previous management are not and will not be involved with this event or any future event as they are no longer associated with the company.

“Let me firstly start off by sharing that, Weekend Warriors is under a holding company of Respin Labs Sdn Bhd which is a 100 per cent company owned by HAHD Group Of Companies (HGOC).

“With this change, we would like to share our new vision, which is to create an environment and community for all ages that encourages participation and interaction through sports. We will not only focus on football but other sports such as netball, basketball, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), dart and many more. With this, we hope to also venture into E-sport.

“Subsequently, throughout the games and various sports, we can have skilled and sought out players to compete and contend internationally under the flagship of Weekend Warriors.

“I would like to express my gratitude to my colleague for making the event happen and also the captains for participating in this tournament. I also like to thank Zell Transportation Sdn Bhd, Mont Water, Rasa Ceria Cafe, Salina’s Mart and Suntec Concrete Sdn Bhd for sponsoring this event.”
