THE Public Works Department (JKR) issued a statement to notify the residents of RPN Kampong Meragang regarding the current water disruption in the area yesterday.
The department said the disruption is due to ongoing water balancing operations at the Terunjing, Meragang and Muara Coastal reservoirs to stabilise the water supply. It affects certain areas within RPN Kampong Meragang causing low water pressure.
“These operations are vital and unavoidable to ensure future water supply to RPN Kampong Meragang will remain stable and adequate. Nevertheless, once the situation improves, water pressure throughout the affected areas will overtime normalise,” added the department.
“The Public Works Department would like to assure the general public that the department remains committed in improving the water supply and for this reason various initiatives are continuously being taken. We are also making the necessary efforts to ensure that any complaint of disruption is being investigated and handled with utmost priority,” it added.
They also advised the public to exercise prudent water usage and less wastage and to report to the Darussalam hotline 123 for any water-related grievances.
“The department deeply regrets for the unforeseen incident and wishes to thank and appreciate the affected residents for their understanding and patience.”
