A VEHICLE was fully engulfed in flames on the bridge of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Highway in Batu Satu, Jalan Tutong yesterday. The cause is still under investigation.
According to a Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) statement, a distress call was received at 11.07am about the incident.
Four personnel from the Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Station, led by DSO Embran bin Haji Yakub, were dispatched to the scene of the incident and managed to put out the fire within four minutes upon arrival. The FRD reminded road users to properly maintain their vehicles and ensure that there is no leakage of flammable fluids, as it can cause a fire.
Road users are also advised to ensure that any vehicle modifications to engines, electrical systems and accessories adhere to the rules and regulations set by authorities and are installed by certified mechanics.
