Seminar focusses on Islamic Finance industry

CENTRE for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM) in collaboration with BNP Paribas Securities Services organised a seminar themed ‘Staying Ahead in A Changing World’ at The Empire Hotel & Country Club yesterday.

The seminar, which focussed on asset servicing in Islamic Finance, was attended by members of the financial industry in Brunei Darussalam.

The event began with welcoming remarks from Acting Assistant Managing Director of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) and Acting Chief Executive Officer of CIBFM Hajah Sufinah binti Haji Sahat.

Speakers included experts from BNP Paribas Securities Services, Head of Alternatives for Asia-Pacific Region Caleb Wong, Head of Custody Products and Solutions, Singapore Siraz Mouhamadmoussa and Head of Financial Intermediaries & Corporate Asia-Pacific Luc Renard.

Topics presented were ‘Syariah-Compliant Solutions: A New World of Investment and Asset Servicing’, ‘Digital Transformation: Market Infrastructure Changes and the Impact on Asset Managers and Owners’ and ‘Yield Enhancement: Multi Asset Class, Alternative Investment Opportunities’.

The seminar concluded with remarks from CEO of BNP Paribas Securities Services Diana Senanayake.
