THREE students received prizes at a lucky draw award ceremony at CfBT Education Services on January 11.
First prize winner Nazhatulmiza binti Nordin (Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School) received a Galaxy Tab A followed by Faizatul Afrina binti Anuar (Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School) and Md Adib Izzuddin bin Jasmale (Berakas Secondary School) who received Samsung phones.
Winners were drawn from a pool of Year 11 International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) students who participated in the ‘AdVantage Programme’, a student support programme by CfBT in partnership with the Ministry of Education to raise the number of students gaining a credit grade in the Cambridge IGCSE examination.
To enter the lucky draw, students attended three roadshows (interactive after-school sessions held three times during the year and led by CfBT teacher-facilitators) and completed a 16-week study programme supervised by a CfBT coordinating teacher.
The programme, which began in 2017, is a targetted intervention involving students whose grades show the potential to achieve a credit grade in their final Cambridge IGCSE examination.
