Praise galore as student completes three-month work attachment

A YEAR 11 Pre-Vocational Programme student from Sayyidina Husain Secondary School recently completed a three-month work placement from August to November last year at KFC Drive Thru in Sengkurong, as part of a collaboration between the Academic Unit, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education (MoE) and KFC (B) Sdn Bhd.

A certificate presentation for Mohammad Nor Iqbal bin Haji Sulaiman was held yesterday.

Principal of Sayyidina Husain Secondary School Dayangku Hajah Noramaliatifah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad said that through the placement, Mohammad Nor Iqbal has gained valuable skills, knowledge and work experience.

The principal also expressed her gratitude to the Academic Unit, Department of Schools for the support in assisting the school in identifying suitable work placement opportunities for students based on interest and talents, preparing application letters to the employer and conducting monthly monitoring visit with teachers from Sayyidina Husain Secondary School to student’s workplace.

Head of Human Resource at KFC (B) Sdn Bhd Anne Lembayung also praised the Academic Unit, Department of Schools’ effort in helping schools find suitable work placement opportunities for students. She hoped that the cooperation between KFC (B) Sdn Bhd and the Academic Unit, Department of Schools established since 2014 will continue.

She added that KFC (B) Sdn Bhd has made part of its mission to invest in Brunei’s nation building to develop a skilled workforce.

“The company is keen to support educational programmes focussing on the development of students’ skills by providing suitable work placement opportunities as part of its corporate social responsibility,” she added.

The manager of the KFC branch was pleased with Muhammad Nor Iqbal’s performance during his work attachment.

“He has shown strong dedication to do a good job and develop good work ethics. We are looking forward to welcoming him again when Mohammad Nor Iqbal resumes his work attachment in August this year.”
