Police, Neighbourhood Watch hold joint crime prevention patrols in two districts

THE Brunei-Muara District Focal Point together with local Neighbourhood Watch members carried out a crime prevention activity during the recent New Year festivities.

Two separate patrols were conducted, with the first occurring in the vicinity of STKRJ Kampong Mata-Mata in Mukim Gadong ‘B’.

Central Police Station personnel in Bandar Seri Begawan and Neighbourhood Watch members of STKRJ Kampong Mata-Mata Gadong were led during the operation by Sergeant Major 3096 Pengiran Noorhasni and Village Head of STKRJ Kampong Mata-Mata Gadong Pengiran Haji Mohd Salleh bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman.

The second patrol was carried out in the vicinity of Kampong Bebuloh in Limau Manis, with the involvement of the Limau Manis Police Station and three Neighbourhood Watch members led by Corporal 4044 Pengiran Md Iskandar.

Meanwhile, the Neighbourhood Watch of the Labi Police Station with Village Head of Kampong Labi II Haji Matussin bin Matzin and Officer-in-Charge of the Labi Police Station Inspector Mohd Nazmi bin Haji Ismail also recently carried out a patrol and approach activity at the Mendaram Besar Longhouse.

The Kuala Belait Police Station also carried out a patrol at Kampong Pandan ‘B’, which was participated by nine personnel from the station and Neighbourhood Watch members led by the Officer-in-Charge of the Kuala Belait Police Station Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohammad Fadhillah bin Haji Ibrahim and Village Head of Kampong Pandan ‘B’ Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Abu Bakar.

The patrol targetted school and residential areas, as well as business premises and commercial buildings under the jurisdiction of Kampong Pandan ‘B’.

The patrol activities were hoped to further enhance community awareness and sense of public security through the collaborative efforts of the Neighbourhood Watch members.
