Police arrest mastermind of gang behind break-ins, car theft in Miri

MIRI (Bernama) – The police detained five men including a mastermind behind the ‘Lakia Tec’ gang actively involved in car theft and burglary cases over the past year.

Miri District Police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said the five, all locals, were aged 25 to 43.

“Four suspects were arrested at a house in Jalan Biri Utama, Pujut 2, and one was detained at Lorong Tasik 1A, Jalan Tasik Vista Perdana,” he said during a press conference yesterday.

Lim said also seized in the raid were a fake K-17-labeled pistol with magazine, a Rambo knife, 11 mobile phones, two Malaysian vehicle licence plates and two from Brunei.
