Non-halal products found on non-designated shelves at hypermarket

LABUAN (Bernama) – Malaysian enforcement authorities found non-halal products on non-designated shelves at a hypermarket on this duty-free island yesterday.

The discovery was made during an integrated operation led by Labuan Health Department Director Dr Ismuni Bohari in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year.

The operation was mounted by more than 30 personnel from the Health Department, Labuan Corporation, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) and Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWI).

“We found the non-halal products being sold at the non-designated shelves and we leave it to JAWI and KPDNHEP to take further action,” Dr Ismuni said.
