THE Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) yesterday morning hosted a special dawn lecture and handed over donations to the Sulawesi Disaster Humanitarian Fund.
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; Commander of the RBAF Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud and senior MinDef and RBAF officials attended the religious event held at the Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garrison.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and officials from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports also attended the event.
Following a mass Subuh prayer, a religious talk entitled ‘Al-Quran the utmost intercession from Allah the Almighty’ was delivered by Ustaz Haji Muskrisman Safari bin Haji Mustafa from the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs. It highlighted the value of time and the need to self-reflect on how well we spent it on our devotion.
The RBAF Commander later handed over a donation to the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports for the Sulawesi Disaster Humanitarian Fund. According to MinDef, the donation marks its third contribution to the fund, which now amounts to a total of BND14,920. The first donation was held in conjunction with the RBAF Cycling Expedition in November 2018 and the second was during the Seri Dewa Golf Tournament in December 2018.
The event concluded with the recitation of Surah Al-Kahf and Sunnat Doha prayer.
