Local denies theft and mischief allegations; case adjourned to February 6

A LOCAL man, 36, yesterday denied charges of trespassing for theft and causing damage in the course of theft.

Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid adjourned the case against Mohammad Addy bin Haji Mohammad to February 6, 2019 for trial dates to be fixed.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Eleana binti Dato Paduka Haji Hairol Arni’s charges against the defendant alleged him of having trespassed into Bangunan Mawar II, Unit B1, Kampong Kiulap at 12.30am on January 22, 2019 and causing damage by having stripped the Lightning Conductor Copper Strips from the rooftop of the building.

The defendant’s defence, as he spoke in court yesterday, was that he did not have any intentions to steal when he went to the building and he had not committed mischief.
