Israeli soldiers ‘neutralised’ West Bank attacker: Army

RAMALLAH, Palestinian Territories (AFP) – A Palestinian attacked Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank late Monday before being shot and “neutralised”, the army said, with Palestinian officials reporting the man had died.

The Israeli army said the knife-wielding assailant had arrived in a car from Nablus and tried to stab a soldier manning a checkpoint south of the city.

“Another soldier responded by firing at the terrorist and neutralising him,” it said in a statement, adding that no soldiers were injured in the attack.
