THE Enforcement Division of the Belait District Office recently issued two compound fines to a vehicle workshop and a Bangladeshi expatriate for violations under Chapter 30, Section 12 of the Minor Offences Act.

The workshop was fined BND500 for leaving unattended vehicles by the roadside and at an empty lot without obtaining any permission from the relevant agencies.

In the second case, the Bangladeshi expatriate was fined BND300 for the dumping of steel, lumber, and glass waste materials at a beachfront in Belait, which posed a threat to both visitors and the surrounding environment.

Members of the public and business owners are reminded to properly dispose of unwanted items at designated areas, in compliance with the regulations under the Minor Offences Act.

The Enforcement Division, meanwhile, will continue to conduct regular inspections in areas under the jurisdiction of the Belait District Office.
