Ceremony celebrates success of 1st ASEAN Rover Moot

THE Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) recently held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony at the Conference Hall of the Scout Headquarters in Gadong, in celebration of 85 years of scouting in Brunei Darussalam.

In addition, the ceremony was also held as a mark of appreciation for all those involved in the success of the the 1st ASEAN Rover Moot on December 12-17, 2018.

The guest of honour was President of the PPNBD and Executive Committee Chairman of the 1st ASEAN Rover Moot Assembly Haji Matusin bin Orang Kaya Sura Haji Tuba.

Also present were representatives from the involved ministries, government departments, district offices and private agencies.

The PPNBD was represented by its Vice-Presidents Pengiran Abdul Wahab bin Pengiran Hassan and Haji Damit bin Haji Chuchu, Secretary-General Haji Abdul Malik bin Mohammad, Treasurer-General Pengiran Haji Alit bin Pengiran Haji Damit, National Scout Chief Commissioner Haji Badar bin Haji Ali, scout commissioners; district scout commissioners; heads of working committees; and scout leaders from all four districts.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa by Acting Headquarters Scout Commissioner for Religious Affairs Mohammad Najib bin Abdul Hamid.

The event continued with a speech by the guest of honour, who expressed his thanks and appreciation to all those who gave their contributions, support, dedication and commitment, which left a positive impact on the Rover Scout participants from ASEAN.

“I also hope and look forward to their continuing support in the near future, in order to strengthen and shape the spirit of the young generation,” he said.

The ceremony ended with the guest of honour presenting certificates of appreciation and plaques to the representatives of all the involved ministries, government departments, district offices and private agencies.
