Bruneians preserve MIB: Minister

THE Centre for Promotion of Knowledge and Language (CPKL) of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) conducted a Special Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) course for its Year 1 students, which is categorised as the compulsory course at the university.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman delivered a special lecture titled Signifikan Titah Permasyuran Kemerdekaan (Significance of the Titah of Declaration of Independence).

The minister said that as the nation stands on its MIB principle, it has become the philosophy of Bruneians to maintain and preserve it.

The minister reminded participants of the history of the struggle towards independence to be appreciated by the youth to ensure they truly understand the foundation in defending the nation with the MIB concept that has long maintained its monarchy rule for over 1,500 years.

The event, chaired by Director of CPKL Dr Adam bin Haji Jait, aimed to provide students a better understanding of the MIB concept and uphold the concept as a lifestyle in facing globalisation.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, UNISSA Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar and Director of the Islamic Da’wah Centre Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh were also present.
