PUTRAJAYA (Bernama) — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday detained Baling MP Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and his brother Datuk Abdul Latif Abdul Rahim to face charges related to corruption and money laundering tomorrow.
MACC in statement said the commission had received the go ahead to charge them from the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
MACC said Abdul Azeez, 52, and Abdul Latif, 58, were detained at 4.30pm after they presented themselves at the MACC headquarters.
They had arrived separately with Abdul Azeez seen arriving at 2.55pm.
The commission said that the duo will be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court tomorrow under the MACC Act 2009 and Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act (AMLATFPUAA) 2001.
