LECTURERS, staff and students of the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) School of Business along with members of the public participated in a blood donation campaign held yesterday in collaboration with Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital’s Blood Donation Centre.
The campaign was held from 9am to 11am with assistance from health officers for health check-ups and blood donation processes.
One of the school’s lecturers, Fujiminori, said that it was his second time donating blood and his body often feels fresh after donating blood. He added that his first donation was last year and noted that although he was on medication, he was still glad to be able to pass the health check-ups to donate blood. The two-hour campaign collected 58 pints of blood.
The campaign was held to promote a sense of volunteerism among the college’s community, especially the younger generation, to get them to be actively involved in saving other people’s lives by becoming regular blood donors.
It also aimed at raising awareness on the importance of replenishing the hospital’s blood supply.
