140 students feted at Khatam Al-Quran ceremony

A TOTAL of 140 pre-university students (Pre-U 2) of Science College Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan (MSPSBS) participated in the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony held at the Auditorium of the college yesterday.

Organised by the Sixth Form Unit of the college, the ceremony was held in conjunction with the graduation ceremony for 2013-2018 MSPSBS students.

Principal of MSPSBS Hajah Susilawati binti Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad was the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the reading of verses of Al-Quran by the participants, the reading of Takhtim and continued with Doa Khatam by Muhammad Hanif bin Awang Sawal. Doa Selamat was recited by Muhammad Nur Hazim Waifiuddin bin Haji Kamaruzaman.

Among the objectives of the ceremony were to encourage the students to complete the 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran, to instill the feeling of love and appreciation towards Al-Quran, to foster ties among students, teachers, parents and the school, as well as to express gratitude to the school for their academics completion.

Also present were Head of Student Affairs Division Hajah Juriah binti Haji Duraman as the representative of School’s Department director; Chairperson of Parents-Teachers Association of the MSPSBS Pengiran Anuar Husaini bin Pengiran Haji Rambli, officers from the Department of School and parents.
