200 scouts attend safety workshop

Some 200 scouts attended the ‘2.0 Safe From Harm’ workshop, organised by Scout Training Commissioner Zainudin bin Haji Ishak, at the multipurpose hall of the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association headquarters in Jalan Gadong recently.

Scout Chief Commissioner Haji Awang Badar bin Haji Awang Ali was the guest of honour.

Head of Uniformed and Community Service Unit of the Co-Curriculum Education Department at the Ministry of Education Hajah Rosediana binti Haji Hidop with scout commissioners, scout leaders, assistant scout leaders, adult in scouting, rover scout members and venture scout member as well as junior scout member expected to take part in the 25th World Scout Jamboree taking place in South Korea in 2023 also attended.

The workshop was based on the concept of a systematic approach to avoid or take action in a situation that may affect the well-being, development and safety of young people and adults in scouting.

The workshop concluded with the presentation of certificates of participation by the Scout Chief Commissioner to the recipients.

He also presented prizes to the winners of 20th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Photo contest with the theme ‘Scout Activities during COVID-19’ organised by Asia-Pacific Regional Office in Manila, the Philippines.

Zainudin obtained third place in the competition that saw over 200 participants from 23 Asia-Pacific countries.
