Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru) partnered with subsidiary company, Imagine, and the Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM) to assist 20 schoolchildren from impoverished families as part of its annual Back-to-School initiative.
With the assistance of volunteers from both companies, the children each bought BND250 worth of stationery, clothing and shoes in the Serusop commercial area.
The money came from funds presented to the MKM.
In 2019, TelBru joined forces with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) to set up the 121 child helpline. The company also contributed about 50 laptops and desktops to children and organisations, and supported the Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei in its journey towards self-sustainability.
This year, TelBru has further plans to establish its corporate social responsibility (CSR) presence by collaborating with non-government organisations, as well as with private and government agencies.
Imagine will be offering products and services that include broadband and mobile, as well as bundles for enterprises, homes and for those on the move in the coming weeks.
