20 army cadets go up the ladder

Twenty Politeknik Brunei’s (PB) army cadets were promoted in a ceremony at One Stop Centre of the college yesterday.

Guest of honour, Registrar of PB Hajah Hanipah binti Haji Apong presented the badges.

Deputy Commanding Officer of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Major Zool Addyhamddymee bin Haji Bahmin was present as the special guest.

The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by SLD KT Mohammad Fahmi bin
Mohd Salleh.

The army cadet programme aims to produce healthy, disciplined and independent students through basic army knowledge, and roles and responsibilities of Royal Brunei Armed Force and community in general.

Under the programme, students were involved in marching, weapon skills, basic first aid, map reading, and physical training activities among others.

To date, there are 91 PB’s army cadets and three officers to train the cadets.
