A coordinated raid on a suspected drug network led to the arrest of 14 men and five women, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said.
The raid was carried out by NCB officers on November 30, targetting six addresses in Kampong Lambak Kiri, Berakas.
The suspects, aged 18 to 53, are said to be active traffickers of syabu, with a large network of pushers. They have been seen holding frequent gatherings at the alleged drug houses.
Among the items seized during the raid were crystalline substances believed to be syabu, weighing 500 grammes and worth over BND90,000, as well as plastic packets, straws, drug paraphernalia and a pair of scales.
The NCB also seized mobile phones, along with more than BND9,000 in local and foreign currencies, which are believed to be proceeds from drugs sales.
Upon prosecution, the charges related to drug trafficking carry a death penalty, while the charges related to the possession of controlled drugs and drug utensils, along with the consumption of controlled drugs, carry the penalties of a jail term and a fine.
The NCB welcomes public information on drug-related activities. To report any suspicious activity, call the NCB at 8777444 (hotline), 2448877 (office line), or email [email protected]
