THE 18th Pusat Ehsan Charity Golf Tournament will be held from March 29-31 at the Royal Brunei Airlines Golf Club in Berakas.
This was announced at a press conference chaired by Chairman of the Organising Committee of the 18th Pusat Ehsan Charity Golf Tournament Seruji bin Haji Setia yesterday.
The tournament aims to raise funds for Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam. As a non-government, non-profit charity organisation, Pusat Ehsan derives its fund through donations and contributions from the community.
The event is also intended to provide an opportunity for members of the public, especially from the private and corporate sectors, to contribute through sponsorships and donations. The tournament is also part of the centre’s continuous public awareness campaign for the care of the disabled.
“We are anticipating about 250 or more golfers this year. We’re excited to organise another tournament to help these students achieve a meaningful life in the community. Our hope is to continue to partner with businesses in the local community to make this tournament a successful event,” said the chairman.
“We thank you all for your support especially to CityNeon, as our event partner and the Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata, our exclusive print media supporters.”
The tournament, which features the Patron’s Challenge Trophy, is also open to ladies and senior golfers. Registration fee is BND100 inclusive of breakfast, lunch and buggy.
There will be special prizes for Hole-in-Ones and Bull’s Eye winners. Participants will have the opportunity to test their putting skills in the “Putt-Stop Challenge” on the Practice Green between holes 5 and 7.
The tournament will be conducted on the basis of ‘System 36 (Stroke Play)’. A Special Sunday Gross Event will be conducted for 12 Top Gross Players vying for the Challenge Trophy.
