A TOTAL of 175 Kindergarten 1 students of Taman Asuhan Kanak-Kanak (TASKA) Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) began their first day of school yesterday with a three-day orientation ceremony set to run until January 9.
The orientation is to familiarise the students with their new surrounding, teachers and classmates.
TASKA YSHHB uses a ‘Play-Based Learning’ approach to bring effective results among students, taking into account the characteristics of children who love to play.
This approach helps develop skills in teamwork, socialisation, leadership, creative thinking, imagination and communication, as well as problem-solving.
TASKA students will also get to participate in music, computer learning, library, swimming and physical education classes as well as dance and games.
Learning at TASKA includes recitation of short Surahs of Al-Quran, Doa recitations and how to carry out ablution.
