Seventeen participants, comprising Youth Development Centre (PPB) personnel at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), will join the 8th SEAMEO Voctech Training of Trainers Programme to empower themselves as trainers.

The seven-day training programme is the first-ever curated flagship training for a single ministry. Participants will explore various modules aimed at developing their current abilities to reach higher standards.

“The certification programme has been designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills which will ensure that you have the set of competences to yield the best results in the training sessions, courses and beyond,” SEAMEO Voctech Centre Director Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar told participants during the programme’s opening ceremony.

The modules include competency-based training, and preparation and delivery of training outputs through micro-teaching and training.

Within a month after the training, participants will be assessed through post-training monitoring, a phase designed by the centre’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) specialists to ascertain observable improvements of training conduct at their workplace.

Upon full completion of the programme, participants who have fulfilled all the assessment requirements will be accredited as certified trainers, with endorsement by the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council (BDNAC).

Alias thanked the MCYS for their trust on the centre to enhance and scale up the professional skills of their training staff.

Deputy directors, TVET specialists, course facilitators, management and officers of SEAMEO Voctech were also present.
