At least 1,668 Indian nationals have been repatriated by the High Commission of India in Brunei Darussalam over 12 chartered flights since July 2020, according to a statement from the high commission. The high commission said that they have been assisting with the repatriation of Indian nationals by chartering flights to India on Royal Brunei flights.
Yesterday, the 12th such flight departed from Brunei to Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu carrying 143 Indian nationals. The local Indian associations provided assistance to the high commission in ensuring travel formalities of all the passengers were completed.
High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam Ajaneesh Kumar along with other officials from the high commission were present to see off the departing passengers.
