A total of 150 international students showcased their cultural heritage at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali’s (UNISSA) International Day. UNISSA students from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Africa, Asia and the Middle East held exhibitions to showcase the uniqueness of their socio-cultural identity such as clothes, foods and traditional games and places of interest in their countries.
The exhibitions also highlighted the roles of well-known Islamic scholars and Islamic education system around the world.
The exhibition was coordinated through UNISSA’s Student Representative Council in collaboration with International Affairs Unit.
A forum was also held to discuss experiences between local and international students, by focussing on the concept of istifadah, which the students understood as receiving benefits from each other through shared experiences and knowledge.
Rector of UNISSA Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal and Assistant Rector (Student’s Affairs and Alumni) Dr Hajah Lilly Suzana binti Haji Shamsu attended the events.
