150 attend dialogue session for Haj facilitators

A dialogue session with Haj facilitators was held by the Haj Management Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday.

The session was organised by the Haj and Umrah Guidance Section.

Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof was the guest of honour at the event attended by 150 participants at the new extension building of the MoRA.

Assistant Lecturer from the Faculty of Usuluddin of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Haji Mohammad Khairul Nazif bin Haji Damit delivered a paper on Penghayatan Ibadah Haji di Bumi Arafah dan Mina. Wuquf in Arafah is one of the important days for Haj pilgrims and is considered to be a day full of blessings for Muslims.

It is also the main pillar of Haj as it distinguishes Haj from Umrah.

He added, “Arafah is an open and expansive area located northeast from Makkah and it is a place where Muslims perform their Wuquf.

Haji Mohammad Khairul Nazif also shared some common mistakes that occurr while performing Wuquf in Arafah which include Wuquf outside the boundaries of Arafah and mistakes while making supplications (Doa) in Jabal Rahmat.

He also touched on instances where pilgrims not taking the opportunity to increase their Zikir and worship Allah the Almighty.

He said some pilgrims were on their phone especially during Wukuf and were ignorant of the sermons that were being delivered.

He also explained that for Muslims who do not perform Haj can take the advantage from the blessings of the Day of Arafah by fasting, Zikir and performing Sunnat prayers.

The dialogue session also saw two working papers presented by Senior Istinbat Officer Haji Mohammad Raimi bin Tengah and Buhuth Officer Haji Martino @ Abdul Azim bin Haji Ahmad, from the State Mufti’s Office. A certificate presentation ceremony for the participants was held.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang presented the certificates.

Prior to the presentation, a resolution was presented by Senior Religious Officers from the Haj Management Department Hajah Zunainah binti Haji Gunong.
