FIFTEEN abandoned vehicles were removed by the Committee for the Nationwide Environmental Clean-up Project on Abandoned Vehicles during Operasi Bersepadu Bersih 92/2019 yesterday.
Two abandoned vehicles were from the Pintu Malim area, while the remaining 13 were from areas in the vicinity of Kampong Tamoi.
The agencies involved in the operation are Law Enforcement Unit of the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Municipal Department, Land Transport Department, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, through the Committee for the Nationwide Environmental Clean-up Project on Abandoned Vehicles.
The Law Enforcement Unit of BSB Municipal Department and other relevant departments reminded vehicle owners and workshop managers to take responsibility of vehicles and to not leave them abandoned.
To date, 1,335 abandoned vehicles have been removed from areas under the BSB Municipal Department.
The government will not be liable for any losses on the offences under Chapter 30 of the Minor Offences Act and Chapter 68 of Road Traffic Act.
