Fourteen companies were fined for violating the Town and Country Planning (Composition of Offence) Regulation 2018 during Opkemas conducted by the Planning Authority through the Department of Town and Country Planning under the Ministry of Development (MoD) in Kampong Jangsak and Kampong Kilanas, Mukim Kilanas.
The companies were found using, obstructing and placing goods on the walkways, driveways, parking spaces and landscapes meant for public use, threatening public safety and well-being.
The companies were each issued a BND250 compound fine for the first offence and told to settle the fine in seven days.
The department reminded the public and business owners to comply with the law by obtaining permission before development works and the use of land.
